Survey of Life Sciences Sector websites |
| We’ve now completed our survey of websites
in the Life Sciences sector. Our findings showed that the quality
of the sector was good, and that website presence was about
average. Accessibility – as with most sectors –
left much scope for improvement. |
| The full survey is available for download
from our home page.
For those of you who are mourning the absence of our monthly
Site Inspection feature from this edition of net-update, we
hope that this make up for it in some small way. |

NMA Media Awards |
| We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate
a friend of ours on her nomination for the NMA Effectiveness
Award 2005. |
| Julie Howell, who has helped us in any number
of ways that go well beyond her job description, well deserves
to have her efforts recognised. At the time of writing, we don’t
know if she has won the award. So we’d like to wish her
the best of luck. |

RNIB Simply the Best Awards 2005 |
| Last month we reported that we had
been nominated for the RNIB’s Simply the Best Award. Unfortunately
we missed out to play.com. |
| However, the Awards ceremony was
a highly enjoyable evening, and we met some inspiring people
and heard about some highly inventive projects to help improve
the quality of life for the visually impaired. |

Happy Birthday to us… |
| Well, net-guide really. The accessible search
engine will be one year old in July. Wow. Has it really been
a year..? Anyway, we’ll be reporting in more depth next
month, on a year in the life of an accessible search engine… |
