net-guide, the accessibility centric search engine, has been shortlisted for the National Library for the Blind's Visionary Design Award 2004.

net-progress are pleased to announce that net-guide, the accessibility centric search engine, has been shortlisted for the National Library for the Blind's Visionary Design Award 2004 in the Visual Impairment category.
Whilst the search engine and directory conforms to high standards of accessibility, what makes it innovative is that all of the websites within its database also carry an accessibility rating.
"We felt that some users of the Internet would find it useful to know how easy a website would be for them to use before actually visiting", said Paul Crichton, speaking for net-progress. "The overwhelming response from user groups has been very positive."
Asked to comment on the nomination, Paul said, "We are all thrilled at net-progress. We know from the feedback that net-guide is appreciated, but to have the site recognised at such an early stage by the National Library for the Blind gives us great encouragement."
