Net-progress has today made a preliminary
launch of net-guide, their innovative accessible search engine
and directory. |
| Whilst the search engine and directory conforms
to high standards of accessibility, what makes it innovative
is that all of the websites within its database also carry an
accessibility rating. |
| “We felt that some users of the Internet
would find it useful to know how easy a website would be for
them to use before actually visiting”, said a spokesman
for net-progress. “Initial testing has gone very well,
and the overwhelming response from user groups has been very
positive.” |
| The preliminary launch is intended to provide
website owners with the opportunity to submit their websites
before net-guide is formally launched to the public at the end
of July 2004. Submission and accessibility evaluation is free. |
