net-progress short-listed for The RNIB Simply the Best
Awards 2005 |
| net-progress have been short-listed in the Membership
Category (Websites) of the RNIB Simply the Best Awards 2005. |
| The RNIB set up the Simply the best awards to
recognise companies and organisations that have made a significant
contribution to improving accessibility for adults and children
with sight problems. |
| net-progress, as a part of their social responsibility
programme, have created net-guide, a search
engine and directory that is not just accessible, but rates
the websites listed for accessibility, thus giving users an
idea of the user experience that the site offers before visiting
it. |
| Additionally, net-progress have worked with Tom
Brake MP, who tabled an Early Day Motion, calling for greater
levels of website accessibility. Subsequent lobbying from net-progress,
the RNIB and the general public resulted in greater awareness
of the issues amongst MPs. Several have pledged to improve accessibility
on their own websites. More than 50 MPs supported the Early
Day Motion. |

said, “We are all delighted to have been short-listed
for the Award. We have tried to make a difference and to have
that effort recognised by being short-listed is a fantastic
